Advice for water sports fans outside the summer
The Baltic Sea after the season - less crowds, more space
When the beaches empty and the holiday bustle gives way to silence, the sea does not fall asleep.
On the contrary, this is when the time begins for those who love wind, waves and adrenaline.
In the off-season, the Baltic becomes an ideal place for fans of water sports. The wind becomes stronger, the waves more dynamic and the space - almost unlimited.
For many surfers, it is autumn and early spring that is the most beautiful time at the seaside.
Why enjoy water sports in the off-season
Apart from the obvious advantage of not having crowds, the autumn Baltic has some remarkable advantages:
- stronger and more stable winds - ideal conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing,
- more water and beach space,
- magical scenery - Grey skies, silver waves and a space that soothes the senses,
- sense of freedom - Just you, the board and the wind.
It's also a great time to learn - instructors have more time and conditions are more challenging, allowing you to progress faster.
Kitesurfing in autumn - a lesson in humility and freedom
Kitesurfing is a sport for those who like to feel the power of nature. In autumn, the wind is stronger but also more predictable, making for great swimming conditions.
However, cooler water and air require preparation - a neoprene wetsuit with a minimum thickness of 5/4 mm is a must.
It is also a good idea to have a neoprene hat, boots and gloves to avoid getting chilled.
After the season, it is worth choosing spots less frequented, such as the area around the eastern beach in Łeba, where the wind blows clean and wide.
For more experienced kitesurfers, this is a true paradise - the Baltic in its raw, wild form.
Windsurfing - a classic that never loses its charm
Windsurfing is a sport that combines strength, technique and harmony with nature.
In the off-season, when the waves are higher and the wind is cooler, it gives a very different experience to the summer.
However, it is worth remembering a few safety rules:
- don't go out alone,
- check wind and current forecasts,
- use a safety waistcoat,
- always carry your phone in a waterproof case.
For many surfers, it is the autumn Baltic that is the real challenge - and the source of the greatest satisfaction.

Equipment - prepare for colder days
After the season, conditions on the water are more challenging, so it is worth taking care of your equipment:
- neoprene foam - thick and well-fitting,
- safety waistcoat,
- safety cable (leash) - A must with SUP,
- gloves, boots, neoprene hood,
- hot drink after getting off the water - not only for pleasure, but also for thermoregulation.
Good equipment is not just about comfort - it's about safety, allowing you to enjoy the water in all conditions.
